Racing Hearts is the true story of Ewy Rosqvist and Ursula Wirth, two Swedish veterinary assistants who took the male-dominated world of early 1960s motorsport by storm. In 1962, they enter Argentina’s Grand Prix representing Mercedes-Benz, as the first and only female team.

They meet ridicule and protests, but are decisive to prove their place. The race is almost 5000 km long, and known for its many deadly accidents. After 8 days, Ewy and Ursula make history with a record-breaking win. Suddenly they become international idols. They just proved that racing isn’t just a boys’ club.
But as the spotlight on them intensifies, so do the cracks in their friendship. Told through their own words and Ursula’s unique 8mm color films, Racing Hearts tells the story of two women breaking norms, and never giving up on their freedom.
